David Peters is a New Mexico singer/songwriter. His music has been nominated for several awards, winning in 2019 for Best Song at The New Mexico Music Awards with “Don’t Take Me for a Hero.” He has performed in coffee houses, restaurants, songwriter showcases, festivals, fairs, and has toured the Southwest.
His Songs cover a wide range of emotions and topics from the sadness of losing love and friendship to humor about the weather. He has songs about war, teaching, the environment and child abuse. His songs appeal to all ages.
David’s songwriting style is primarily folk/Americana, but he mixes in some blues, pop, and country. His song writing influences include Gordon Lightfoot, Paul Simon, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and Lennon/McCartney.
